Spanner sells millions of children’s books worldwide but at the time he didn’t have anything that could be described as a logo.
He wanted to branch out into consumer goods and so I was asked to create a logo that felt contemporary but would also reflect the heritage of his work.
My intention was to keep things looking clean so that the mark could be applied across a wide range of product categories. The end result uses a simplified redrawing of his personal favourite character within a boundary circle bearing his name.
