Ident for a high-concept skateboarding event
The proposition was to use a famous location from Stanley Kubrick‘s legendary A Clockwork Orange (1971), namely Wandsworth Roundabout in London, as the site for a skateboarding competition, which I wanted to pitch as a fundraising event in aid of the NGO Skate Aid.
It would be a spot that would be ideal due to specific architectural peculiarities that make it particularly interesting for the sport but with the extra ironic subtext of skateboarding’s past as a ‚rebellious‘ alternative culture melding with the narrative of the film (and book, of course) and it’s none-to-positive view of future youth culture.
The logo introduced the concept as part of a pitch pack aimed at selling the concept to potential media partners. As a design, I took the famous font from the film poster and combined it with my own illustration of the anti-hero Alex’s famous ‘bowler and fake eyelashes’ sartorial styling.
