I created these cut-out paper skateboard models as an awareness tactic for the international pedagogy-thru-skateboarding NGO Skateistan
The piece was intended as a social-media led guerilla arts project. Distributed via the website and the official social media channels, users could download the template and then take the models out with them to leave around in bars, restaurants, skateparks, shops etc as an awareness piece.
We did various versions to tie into specific events, including using them as an extra fundraising element -fans were invited to submit customisations of the model to Skateistan to host in a gallery in exchange for a small donation.
n.b. I was delighted when the initiative found unexpected life as a teaching aid in a school in Burma – we were sent pictures of kids with their customised versions completely out of the blue.
