interactive, adaptable livery for Tesla fleet.
Munich RE, a leading global insurance provider, were flying their CEOs to Monte Carlo for their annual conference and wanted a distinctive, memorable way of transporting their VIPs from the airport to the venue.
My proposal transformed the conference’s existing key visual — an abstract photograph of LED lighting — into a dynamic vehicle livery
The design was both adaptable and interactive, allowing the visual identity of the conference to extend beyond printed materials and into the real-world experience of the event. By applying the abstract light forms across the fleet, the Teslas became moving extensions of the conference’s visual language, creating a cohesive, immersive brand experience for delegates from the moment they arrived in Monte Carlo.
So far, so normal
The hook to my concept would be that each vehicle would be adorned with applied vinyl graphics that had been printed with Lumilor® electroluminescent inks. By running a current through the electro-conductive pigments, an impression of flashing LEDs could be created by setting each colour as a separate layer controlled by its own circuit.
The colour changes would be controlled by the driver using a simple plug-in coded for the Linux based OS of the dashboard display. The electrical circuit change would be administered using Bluetooth signals. The UX would be big and bold so as to allow the driver to choose his livery without distracting his attention from driving.
