To support a script that was being sent to major TV networks, I created a set of props that were housed in a map case, along with a fighting knife and pair of pliers to reflected a story about an an East German dentist from Neuruppin who joins a motorcycle gang .
The key prop was a sew-on patch of the type worn by motorcycle clubs internationally. The piece featured the gang name along with idioms popular in the culture such as ‘1%’ and ‘MC’, all rendered in the correct visual vernacular.
Support material was a series of deliberately ironic postcards for the town which, rather than the usual pleasant scenes, showed a number of gritty elements represented in the style of holiday postcards.
