Product concepts for merchandising range
When Lufthansa Technik began restoring the Lockheed L-1649A “Super Star,” Lufthansa saw an opportunity to turn a complex engineering project into a story people could touch, wear, and keep.
Our team was invited to capture the romance of the superstar and 1950s transatlantic flight and bring it to life through merchandise concepts that felt authentic, collectible, and emotionally resonant.
For my contribution, I immersed myself in visual research, studying the aircraft in detail and extracting design cues from its form, materials, and history. From this, I sketched up a series of premium product concepts rooted in genuine elements found on the aircraft—transforming the restoration into a living brand experience.
For the illustrations I used a vector key line illustration technique combined with painterly textures to hopefully bring across the concept without detracting the viewer with details that would be unnecessary at the early stage in the project.
